As a company Bluelight has always wanted to showcase the high quality of the equipment in the best possible light. It was decided to have a high specification demonstration vehicle built that can travel to potential clients and exhibitions and show how Bluelight can be built into a purpose built van dedicated to the lining works it was designed for.
The purchase of a long wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter enabled the first build to begin. Having a PTO driven high output compressor and powerful generator built under the floor of the vehicle allowed for more work space inside the van. A work bench with drawer units, dedicated insulated cool box, shelving, spaces storage, consumables, wash basin, 75m retractable power lead, 20m 3/4″ air hose, securing points for the Bluelight control unit, curing basket storage and inversion drum storage.
Specialist lighting was also added to allow for the materials to be handled safely without risk of curing as well as standard lighting to make life working at night easier. External work lighting, full width lightbar and rear loading ramp completed the build.
Everything came together perfectly and the new van was ready to hit the road and was displayed at the National Drainage Show at London’s Excel arena.
